Scott T. Silverman has counseled management in all aspects of labor and employment for over 18 years. Scott's broad range of experience includes representation of employers in administrative proceedings, federal and state court litigation, and arbitrations. Although he has handled a range of labor and employment issues in his career, Scott's practice has emphasized labor management relations, employment discrimination, non-compete/trade secret, wage and hour, and workers' compensation retaliation claims. As a complement to his litigation practice, Scott advises employers on day-to-day employment issues and drafts manuals and contracts for his clients. Scott frequently lectures and publishes articles on current developments in labor and employment law. Scott is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Labor and Employment Law. Richard D. Tuschman concentrates his practice in labor and employment law and complex litigation. He regularly represents employers in Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) cases, as well as in cases alleging employment discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Florida Civil Rights Act. Richard also handles cases involving whistleblowing, restrictive covenants, breach of contract and trade secrets, and regularly appears before federal and state agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Richard handles a wide range of litigation in federal and state courts, including consumer class actions, business disputes, and litigation under the Title III of the ADA.
Richard is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by The Florida Bar and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers Magazine. He is a frequent lecturer on employment law issues and is a regular contributor to Thompson Publishing's Employer's Guide to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Richard also writes the Forbes Let's Talk Shop Blog and is an editor and contributor for the Akerman HR Defense Blog.

James S. Bramnick is the Akerman Labor & Employment Practice Group Chair. He has more than 35 years of experience exclusively representing management in labor and employment law. Jim's broad range of experience in all aspects of labor and employment law includes jury trials in employment discrimination cases in federal and state court, day-to-day preventive counseling for employers, "how-to-avoid" training sessions for supervisors, and advice for companies during union organizing campaigns. He is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Labor and Employment Law, a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a past chair of the Labor and Employment Section of The Florida Bar, and has been continually recognized by Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America. |
