Akerman Senterfitt’s Julie Williamson Receives Superintendent’s Choice Award from Miami-Dade County Public Schools

Akerman Senterfitt announced today that Julie Williamson, a shareholder in the firm’s Miami office, was honored with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent’s Choice Award for her exemplary commitment to education, the Miami-Dade County Public Schools and its initiative, The Parent Academy. The award was presented at the annual Miami-Dade County Public Schools Community Partners Recognition and Awards Luncheon held May 21st at Jungle Island.
Williamson has worked to benefit the Miami-Dade school system and The Parent Academy through her role as founder and chair of the St. Martha Concert Committee and the St. Martha-Yamaha Concert Series. The series provides in-school concerts by its world class, award-winning musicians, presents art exhibits by student artists, and provides free tickets to students and parents who participate in The Parent Academy. Akerman has sponsored the series for the past eight years. Williamson is also a board member of The Foundation for New Education Initiatives, Inc.
Williamson works in Akerman’s Real Estate Practice and has received recognition as a real property transactional attorney, including extensive experience in leasing, lending, acquisitions, and real property title. Her clients range from individual entrepreneurs to national institutions. She has been elected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, appointed to the Advisory Board of Georgetown University School of Law's Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute, and is a past chair of the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar.
