Mary Carroll was highlighted by the Daily Business Review in an article titled, "Akerman attorney Mary V. Carroll helped group obtain 278 restaurants from Burger King." The article discusses the recent representation by Akerman Senterfitt of Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc., a public company and the largest Burger King franchisee. Carroll co-led a team that helped the largest operator of franchised Burger King restaurants acquire hundreds more, embark on a major remodeling project, and borrow $150 million on the same day. Wayne A. Wald, co-lead counsel with Carroll, and Palash Pandya focused on the financial transaction.

Carroll stated, "It was a big day on our calendar for a long time. The simultaneous closings added to the complexity of getting everything accomplished."
