Akerman Senterfitt's James McNeil Elected Secretary of the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando

Akerman Senterfitt today announced that James McNeil, shareholder and chair of the Akerman Residential Development Practice has been elected secretary of the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando for a one-year term. As secretary, McNeil will play a central role within the president's team, and serve as a member of the board of directors and the executive committee

The HBA of Metro Orlando is a professional trade organization that provides leadership for the housing and building industry throughout Central Florida. It acts as an educational resource to the area's housing and building community and plays an instrumental role in governmental and regulatory activities that impact the greater industry.

McNeil has been a member of the HBA of Metro Orlando for eight years. He also chairs the organization's Developers Council, which holds monthly programs on issues affecting the residential development industry.

In his practice of law, McNeil handles both transactional and entitlement matters and represents developers, homebuilders, private equity groups, lenders and investors in the acquisition, financing, entitlement, development, and sale of property in Florida. He is also actively involved in the distressed property market and represents clients in all phases of commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects. McNeil is recognized for his real estate work in Florida by The Best Lawyers in America and by Florida Super Lawyers
