Carl Roston, co-chairman of Akerman Senterfitt's M&A and private equity practice, was quoted in the article, "Law and Accounting Firms Seek M&A Activity," by the South Florida Business Journal, where he examined M&A activity nationally and within South Florida during the first quarter of 2013.

“I think there were sellers who rushed a little last year, so you had some deals being pulled into the last quarter of the year that might have happened in 2013 otherwise," said Roston. “We are seeing substantial activity in the pipeline, so we believe it will pick up. Our corporate group is busier than expected. We see health care being busy, transportation or logistics and support services for travel, trade and tourism.”

The South Florida Business Journal noted that Akerman was one of only two South Florida-based firms included in Mergermarket’s Top 15 for M&A Deals list, ranked 11th as best legal advisors in the nation last year.
