Andrew Smulian, Chairman and CEO of Akerman Senterfitt was interviewed by Drew Lewis, eDiscovery Counsel for Recommind, for an exclusive Q&A in Argyle Journal, published by the Argyle Executive Forum, a membership-based professional services firm with more than 40,000 executives including senior operating leaders, board members, investment managers, and policy makers. In the conversation titled, "A Collaborative Culture: How Legal Professionals Can Promote Teamwork to Build a Successful Law Firm," Smulian discusses the increasing importance of creating a culture of collaboration within a law firm to better serve the changing needs of clients today and well into the future. Smulian underscored the rapid pace of change and growing number of disruptors in the marketplace impacting clients and their businesses. He also spoke about Miami as a gateway city on the cusp of increased technology and entrepreneur activity both homegrown and emitting from Latin America, noting the firm's presence in the growing startup community in Miami at the LAB Miami.

"There are all kinds of activities going on among the start-ups and other disruptors, including international investors and serial entrepreneurs who really comprise the bulk of our economy. This is the kind of entrepreneurial ecosystem we want to dig in to, to grow with, because I think the best stuff comes when we put our lawyers in a space where creative collisions occur."
