Firm Partners with St. Baldrick's Foundation to Raise $60,000 for the Cause

Akerman LLP, a leading law firm, today announced that it has once again joined forces with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising entity for childhood cancer research, to organize a community head-shaving fundraiser. A team of Akerman lawyers and staff will shave their heads in solidarity with child cancer patients who have lost their hair through chemotherapy treatment in an effort to raise local community awareness and help raise $60,000 for the cause.

The fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, March 12 at the Duffy's Sports Grill on 225 Clematis St. The event will begin with a live broadcast by ESPN Radio's Josh Cohen from noon to 2:00 pm. Then at 4:00 p.m., over 30 inspired individuals will line-up to shave their heads.

"We are proud to again partner with the St. Baldrick's Foundation," said Eric Gordon, office managing partner of Akerman's West Palm Beach office. "We encourage volunteers and donors from all over Palm Beach County and beyond to participate, contribute and help us spread the word.  It's all about raising awareness and serving as allies in the community so that these children have a chance to grow and lead amazing lives."

Thus far, the Akerman team has raised nearly $15,000 toward its goal of $60,000. For those who wish to contribute, a donation of any size can be made to the Akerman team by visiting the firm's page here or in person during the event.
