Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, today announced that it has represented Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc., the world's largest Burger King® franchisee, in connection with a $71.3 million public offering of the company's common stock, underwritten by Raymond James & Associates and Stephens, Inc. The deal was completed on April 30, 2014.

The Akerman team representing Carrols Restaurant Group was led by Wayne Wald, the Corporate Practice Group leader in Akerman's New York office, partner  Palash Pandya, Frank Cordero, Federal Tax Practice Chair, and associates Dalia De Leon and Anne Cataldo.

Akerman has represented Carrols Restaurant Group in several other noteworthy transactions, including a secondary underwritten public offering of more than 4 million shares of common stock in 2012, and the acquisition of 278 Burger King Corporation company-owned restaurants. Akerman also represented Carrols Restaurant Group in the spin-off into an independent public company of its former wholly owned subsidiary, Fiesta Restaurant Group, Inc., which owns, operates and franchises the Pollo Tropical® and Taco Cabana® restaurant brands.
