In The News

Beth Alcalde, managing partner of Akerman's Palm Beach County offices, was among a select group of female executives honored as Influential Business Women by South Florida Business Journal. The publication recognized 26 women leaders across the region for their proven excellence in business and community settings. Alcalde was praised for her leadership, generosity and commitment to clients. In an interview, she discussed with South Florida Business Journal the fundamental attributes that may help women advance in their careers, as well as the importance of mentorship and establishing specific goals.

The publication wrote, "Alcalde defines an influential business woman as someone who supports and motivates others to be the best versions of themselves.

'Through encouragement and leadership of others, such a woman can have a far greater impact than by more narrowly focusing her efforts on her own endeavors,' she says. 'I believe someone becomes influential by being willing to accept new challenges and new roles over time.'"
