Labor & Employment Practice Group Chair Eric Gordon discussed his role at Akerman in a Sun Sentinel Q&A titled, "Career Spotlight: Law Partner Takes on Labor and Employment Practice Group as Chair." Gordon addressed his primary focus on growing the Labor & Employment Practice Group to meet the needs of clients across the firm. In particular, he discussed how rapid changes taking place in the practice of law and beyond demand innovative thinking to best serve clients in meaningful, effective ways.

"Embrace the market disruption that surrounds the legal sector and many client sectors as well. Continuously challenge traditional norms and infuse outside thinking into everyday work," Gordon told the publication.

He also spoke to the work of the firm's lawyers both inside and outside the courtroom. "Every organization with employees has employment law issues. So while there are times when employment lawyers are in the courtroom, the majority of the hard work is done in our office or at our clients' workplaces before we ever step foot into the courtroom," he added.
