Jeffrey Sharer Recognized Among Top 50 Legal Innovators Globally by Fastcase

Jeffrey Sharer, co-chair of Akerman’s Data Law Practice, was recognized by legal publisher Fastcase as one of the year''s top 50 innovators, visionaries and leaders in law. Sharer was selected among a distinguished group of legal professionals worldwide for his integral involvement in the creation of the Akerman Data law Center, an automated inventory of data privacy and security laws developed in partnership with Thomson Reuters Legal Managed Services and Neota Logic. Earning Akerman distinction among the 20 Most Innovative Law Firms in North America by The Financial Times, the product leverages the power of integrated "expert systems," a form of artificial intelligence (AI), to deliver legal advice from Akerman lawyers to clients efficiently and cost-effectively.

Sharer concentrates his practice in the increasingly business-critical area of information law. His client work spans an array of fields including information governance, privacy and data protection, cybersecurity, and electronic discovery. He will be celebrated as part of the Fastcase 50 Class of 2017 during the American Association of Law Libraries Annual Meeting on July 15-18 in Austin, Texas.
