Akerman Senterfitt's National Government Affairs & Public Policy Practice Hosts Post-Election Webinars
November 4, 2010
Akerman's Policy attorneys and public policy advisors analyzed the outcome of the Florida races and the policy implications for the national elections, following an historic election day, in two webinars sponsored by Akerman. "We had great participation internally and externally with hundreds of people logged in to the webinars. Our clients really enjoyed the exchange between our state and federal team members and appreciated their unique political insights," said Akerman Policy practice co-chair Mike Abrams. The state webinar featured an election recap for the state of Florida, the new executive officers and cabinet, key Congressional races, legislative branch, and constitutional amendments.
The Federal webinar featured Akerman's Policy team from the Washington, D.C. office who shared their views on the implications of the Congressional elections, analyzed the impact on the House, Senate, and the lame duck session, and presented their outlook for key issues anticipated in 2011. While the news pundits are calling the mid-term election "historic", the participants in the webinar were reminded by the Policy practice chair, Rick Spees, that "what happened last night may not be in fact a generational change, but it may be overturned by another historic election in 2012 and the election did set the rules for the next two years." The question and answer segments of both webinars allowed clients and Akerman staff to ask questions of the state and federal Policy teams in an interactive manner. Akerman invites you to log in and listen to the recorded webinars by clicking the links below.
