Labor and Employment partner Arlene K. Kline in West Palm Beach spoke to Bloomberg Law about what employers should look out for now that OSHA’s emergency temporary standard (ETS) protecting healthcare workers from Covid-19 has expired. Implemented on an emergency basis, the ETS was in place for six months, but no word has come from OSHA on whether it will replace the ETS with a permanent standard or consider it still in force, leaving employers in a state of confusion.
Kline advised looking toward other sources for guidance, reminding employers to be aware of state and local laws and rules that mandate health protections for workers or bar employers from enacting policies.
