Tax Practice Group Deputy Chair David Blum was featured in a Law360 article discussing an Illinois judge's decision to throw out Apple's challenge to Chicago's streaming tax. The judge said that the company failed to provide the specificity required to claim the tax unconstitutionally applied to its services, but offered it an opportunity to replead its case. Blum, who has followed the dispute, said that the order was a procedural setback for Apple but that it allows the company to reframe its arguments in a manner that could better grab the court's attention.

"Apple's arguments live for another day," Blum said. "The judge recognized there is a case to be pled."
