Top 100 U.S. law firm Akerman LLP is pleased to announce that Chicago Tax Law partner Mary Samsa has been selected as a member of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel.  The American College selects new members after “a careful judgment by prominent employee benefits practitioners” that a new member meets “demanding criteria, emphasizing both excellence in the quality of practice and serious contributions to the public’s understanding and appreciation of employee benefits law,” the College writes.

Samsa was inducted into the hall on September 17th at the group’s annual meeting and dinner in Chicago.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Samsa works on executive compensation and tax-qualified retirement programs with Fortune 500 companies, privately held companies, multinational organizations, and nonprofit entities, including health systems and colleges. She works on the implementation and maintenance of their employee benefit programs, and, with her background as a Certified Public Accountant, brings a multi-faceted approach to advising with respect to their legal, financial, and administrative challenges.
