Akerman is proud to share that Litigation Partner Catherine Bentley Harris was a recent nominee for the Austin Business Journal's 2023 "Women in Business Awards."

With a background in litigating business and intellectual property disputes, Harris focuses on assisting companies in governance and general corporate law as well as the selection, protection, and enforcement of intellectual property assets.  She also helps with the negotiation and drafting of various agreements including master services agreements, employment agreements, independent contractor agreements,  license agreements, intellectual property proprietary assignments, and non-disclosure agreements, among others.

In addition to her legal practice, Harris is also a member of several key Akerman committees, including Akerman Philanthropic Initiative, Akerman Strong, Lateral Integration, and the Women’s Initiative Network. She is also the team leader for the Austin Community Impact Team.
