The gears continue to turn for one of the largest and most complex antitrust cases currently moving through the nation's courts. RealPage Inc. and a group of some of the largest multi-family property companies in the country asked the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to move a series of antitrust cases against them to Texas federal court. The judicial panel rejected a similar request in December but new claims have been filed since then around the country.
RealPage provides price-setting software to apartment management companies. Plaintiffs claim the Texas-based company and the named apartment companies created a cartel to manipulate rent prices.
