In The News

Akerman Government Affairs and Public Policy attorneys Matthew Goldstein and Felicia Nowels authored a chapter on U.S. foreign direct investment controls for the Pinsent Masons Out-Law Annual Foreign Direct Investment Report for 2023. The chapter, “Foreign Direct Investment in the U.S.,” outlines and discusses Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) declaration and notice requirements applicable to investments by foreign persons in U.S. businesses. It also discusses recent developments in the regulations administered by CFIUS.

Goldstein and Nowels focus their practice on international trade and national security laws. They consult on U.S. exports, foreign direct investment, and other activities regulated by the Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and CFIUS.
