Matthew Schroeder spoke to E&E News about the recent uptick in litigation related to per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a group of chemicals commonly known as PFAS, widely used in cookware and firefighting foam. PFAS has been linked to cancer, resulting in litigation and state lawsuits against chemical manufacturers increasing.
“I think you're going to see a waterfall effect. You're going to see more states doing that,” Schroder said. “We’ve asked the question, ‘Is this the new asbestos?’”
