Richard Pinsky contributed to Law360’s “Florida Legislation To Watch In 2020” outlook article, elaborating on the state’s budget, environmental policies, and infrastructure proposals.
In regards to Governor Ron DeSantis’ proposed $91.4 “Bolder, Brighter, Better Future Budget” spending plan, Pinsky said, “It’s not as if we have a billion dollar shortfall, and so there's plenty of money. Now, it becomes a function of the appropriators and what the priorities are going to be.”
He also commented on the Governor’s focus on environmental issues, “He put the pedal to the floor last session to the tune of almost $625 million. He is not taking his foot off that pedal.”
Pinsky said of a state proposal to expand new toll roads and sewer systems in rural parts of Florida, “Anywhere that there’s growth going on and industry is trying to grow, that is the greatest need right now — Where do people live that have to go to work every day?”
