Akerman is proud to announce that Steven Polivy has been honored by Crain's New York in its 2023 "Notable Leaders in Real Estate." The award recognizes individuals working in senior leadership roles within the residential or commercial real estate industry who have demonstrated an innovative approach to marketing and hold a leadership position outside of their organization.

Polivy serves as chair of Akerman’s Economic Development and Incentives Practice. He represents developers, international investors, Fortune 500 companies, family-owned businesses, and other real estate end-users in securing crucial government incentives and tax benefits for major urban redevelopment and corporate relocation projects. His recent professional accomplishments include arranging and closing on the incentives for a 300,000 square-foot newly built film and TV studio in Woodside, Queens and handling a $200 million refinancing and consolidation project for a Brooklyn-based REIT.

Polivy is also a leader in the efforts of Akerman's pro bono team. This work includes serving on Akerman's Pro Bono Council and personally advising Life of Hope, a central Brooklyn-based provider of services to immigrant families and the Caribbean community, in the organization's search for new headquarters. He also serves as the co-chair of the board of directors for JBI International (formerly known as The Jewish Braille Institute) and as co-chair of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law Real Estate Alumni Group and a member of the Cardozo Alumni Real Estate Advisory Council.
