Bringing extensive litigation experience in both state and federal courts, Jorge López serves as Akerman's Assistant General Counsel. Jorge focuses on protecting the firm and its clients with risk management, professional liability, compliance, contractual, employment disputes, and ethics issues. Jorge began his career as a law clerk to Justice Harry Lee Anstead at the Florida Supreme Court before joining Akerman in the Litigation Practice Group. He has also served as an Assistant School Board Attorney for the School Board of Miami Dade County, the fourth largest School District in the country with a budget of approximately $4 billion dollars.
