Akerman is a sponsor of the WX Woman of the Year Gala, which honors a woman in New York commercial real estate who has demonstrated a breadth of accomplishments in and a long-standing commitment to the industry. 

This year, WX will be honoring Yvonne Nelson, former Head of Real Estate, Office of the New York City Comptroller, Bureau of Asset Management. Proceeds from the event are used to fund scholarships for women entering the real estate profession in the New York City area, and to pay for educational, professional development, and networking events for the organization’s mentoring program and members.
