Co-Chair of Akerman’s Tax Practice Group, David Blum, and tax partners Stefi George, Lauren Ferrante, and Gabriel Marinaro will speak at The Chicago Tax Club’s 69th Annual Fall Seminar on October 26. The two-day seminar featuring nationally recognized speakers, authors, and tax technicians, provides an excellent opportunity for tax professionals to enhance their skills and network with others in the industry. Akerman’s speakers at the event include:
- David Blum, whose topic, "The Evolution of Digital Services, Advertising, and Data Mining Taxes," will explore current sales tax developments in the area of digital products and consumer data collection.
- Stefi George, presenting "Navigating Inconsistent Marketplace Rules – How can Multistate Facilitators and Sellers Comply?" which will address variations in states’ marketplace laws, how to handle multiple facilitator (tiered) transactions, and complex marketplace seller issues.
- Lauren Ferrante and Gabriel Marinaro, who will give the seminar’s ethics presentation focused on ethical rules and standards for today’s tax professional in the modern and electronically-connected world.
