Akerman is again presenting at COST’s (Council on State Taxation) 2-day workshop that will cover the key state and local tax issues that companies are facing, including emerging technologies, digital taxes, streaming, sourcing, marketplace, managing sophisticated audits and appeals, gig economy, and much more.

Tax Practice Group Co-Chair, David Blum will participate in the panel on “Domestic and International Digital Services Tax (DST) Initiatives,” which will provide a background on the development of foreign DSTs and the pending concerns and legal challenges of states seeking to enact their own DSTs.

Stefi George’s topic, “Best Practices for Handling Complex Technology Industry Audits,” will address the unique challenges tech companies face during state tax audits and appeals, and offer best practices for managing the process effectively and navigating statutory and regulatory ambiguities.
