David Blum, Co-Chair of the Tax Practice Group, will speak at the Chicago Tax Club's 68th Annual Fall Seminar on the “Evolving Taxation of Metaverse, Crypto and NFTs.” The session, which David will co-present with Robyn Staros, Managing Director of Deloitte Tax LLP, is part of a two-day program that includes nationally recognized speakers, authors and tax technicians, who will address a variety of current tax issues.

Among other topics, David's session will address: 

• The IRS treatment of cryptocurrency;
• How cryptocurrency is similar and different from other kinds of property under the tax code;
• Other digital assets such as Stablecoins and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) under the tax code;
• Transactions in the Metaverse;
• Current law and expected changes to federal and state tax law;
• And such questions as sourcing, among others.
