Akerman is a sponsor of The Women's Event, hosted by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Women's Philanthropy Committee. The program will recognize Jewish women who are helping to care for those in need, fund vital programs, and strengthen Jewish life in Miami through their commitment of time and support to the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign. The luncheon will also feature a conversation with actress and songwriter Paula Abdul.
