Akerman is a sponsor of the Hillsborough County Bar Association Diversity Committee's Networking Social. This event is designed to connect law students from across the state with local attorneys, law firms, judges, local bar associations, public service organizations and government institutions in a casual, friendly and low-pressure environment. The goal of the Networking Social is for law students to make connections within the Tampa Bay legal community that will serve the students in their law school careers and assist the students in their transition from law school to the practice of law. In addition, the Networking Social promotes diversity and inclusion while generating awareness about the practice of law, volunteer opportunities, and quality of life offered in the Tampa Bay area.
