Akerman is a sponsor of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) Annual Conference in Denver. LaKeisha Marsh, chair of the higher education and collegiate athletics practice, will speak at the conference, as well as at the pre-conference event focused on lawyers new to the higher education industry.

LaKeisha will be a panelist for the discussion forum regarding athletics, with topics including NCAA updates, sports wagering, and e-sports and emerging trends in college athletics. For the pre-conference event, LaKeisha will serve as a panelist on college athletics, with topics including NCAA structure and enforcement, athletics contracts, Title IX and intercollegiate athletics, and various trending topics. 

The NACUA Annual Conference is the most popular program offered every year by the association and focuses on current issues and legal developments in the field, with plenary sessions as well as panel and small discussion offerings. The Lawyers New to Higher Education pre-conference event is a foundation-building workshop designed to introduce lawyers new to college and university law to the concepts, statutes, regulations, and practical knowledge needed to navigate key areas of practice.
