Akerman is proud to sponsor the LGBT Bar Association of Los Angeles 2018 Gala, which will honor Bet Tzedek with the Community Service Award for its significant contributions to advancing LGBTQ rights within the community. Established in 1976, Bet Tzedek is a nonprofit organization that provides free, expert legal advice and representation to low-income resident of Los Angeles County. Each year its attorneys, advocates, and staff work with over 1,000 pro bono attorneys and volunteers to assist more than 20,000 people regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, immigrant status, or gender identity.
