Akerman's Women's Initiative Network is hosting a private, pre-release screening of On the Basis of Sex, a scripted film about the inspiring and spirited true story that follows the life of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Starring Academy Award nominee Felicity Jones as a young lawyer, RBG teams up with her husband Marty to bring a groundbreaking case before the U.S. Court of Appeals and overturn a century of gender discrimination.

Akerman is once again proud to join Participant Media, who also distributed the RBG documentary, in celebrating the vital role of law in creating a more equitable society. The film will premiere in 2018 to coincide with Justice Ginsburg’s 25th anniversary on the Supreme Court. On the Basis of Sex debuts in select theaters on December 25, followed by a nationwide release on January 11.
