Speaking Engagements

Stephen Tilbrook, moderates a panel titled, “Federal Legislation and Policy Initiatives for Climate Resilience” at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Washington Summit presented by Florida Power & Light Company and Nicklaus Children’s Health System. The panel addressed federal legislation on climate change, funding opportunities through the Department of Energy, and regulatory policy related to environmental justice and climate justice.  The panelists included U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, Chair of the Select Committee on Climate Crisis; Chris Castro, Chief of Staff, U.S. Department of Energy Office of State and Community Energy Programs; and Dr. Jalonne L. White-Newsome, Senior Director for Environmental Justice, White House Council on Environmental Quality.

The panelists provided updates on federal legislation and climate resilience policies, and Delegates had the opportunity to meet with Washington insiders and members of Congress.  Akerman LLP was a sponsor of the Washington Summit and Mr. Tilbrook is a partner in the Fort Lauderdale office, focusing his practice on complex land use and environmental matters.
