Akerman will host a networking event titled "The Power of Social Media for Professional Women." The program features Associate Professor of Journalism at Northwestern University, Rachel Davis Mersey, as she shares key insights on how women can use social networking to help both themselves and their companies succeed. Discussion topics include how to better leverage popular social media to expand connections, elevate business profiles, build corporate and personal brands, and identify and manage gender-related generational issues in the workplace.
