Akerman is a sponsor of the United Arts of Florida celebration of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. Mayor Dyer received the 2016 Leadership in the Arts Award from The United States Conference of Mayors, for his efforts to incorporate the arts into the community and increase cultural opportunities for all residents, business owners, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions.
