Press Release

Firm Leads with Most Women Honorees Distinguished as Legal Elite

Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, today announced that Florida Trend has named 27 of the firm's lawyers to its 2015 Legal Elite list.

The publication's ranking made Akerman one of the top firms in the state for total lawyers listed, and the firm with the most women honorees. Akerman's Legal Elite honorees include lawyers from firm offices across Florida, including Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa and West Palm Beach.

Partners Karen Meyer Buesing and Katherine Eastmoore Giddings were once again recognized among a select group of practitioners in the publication's Hall of Fame. Further, Florida Trend identified four Akerman lawyers under the age of 40 that were named Up & Comers for their record of excellence in the legal community, coupled with a strong sense of civic leadership.

The 2015 Florida Legal Elite list recognizes the state's top lawyers as selected by their peers through a voting process in 28 practice areas. The publication recognizes less than two percent of the more than 83,000 Florida Bar members practicing in the state.
