Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, represented Brener International Group, LLC and the Houston Dynamo organization in the sale of an ownership stake to NBA Houston Rockets Guard James Harden. 

Harden joins an ownership group led by majority owner Gabriel Brener and Brener International Group, LLC, a family-owned private investment firm with global business and investment interests. 

The Dynamo organization includes the Major League Soccer professional soccer club known as the “Houston Dynamo,” the National Women’s Soccer League professional soccer club known as the “Houston Dash,” and the state-of-the-art sports facility known as BBVA Stadium in downtown Houston.

The Dynamo won consecutive MLS Cup championships in 2006 and 2007, and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2018.  The club introduced the NWSL women’s team Houston Dash in 2013.
