Akerman represented TD*X Associates LP, a provider of low-temperature thermal desorption services for the remediation of hazardous wastes, in the sale of its thermal desorption assets in Robstown, Texas, to Republic Services, Inc., one of the largest providers of environmental services in the United States.

Since 1987, TD*X Associates has developed proprietary technologies to remediate contaminated soils and hazardous materials including polychlorinated biphenyls, pesticides, solvents, and mercury at facilities across the country. The transaction expands Republic Services' disposal capabilities and strengthens its environmental services network in Texas.

The Akerman team advising TD*X Associates was led by David M. Doney and also included partners Alexandra I. Ledyard, Austin A.B. Ownbey, and James E. Rogers, and associate Emily N. Doan.
