Top 100 U.S. law firm Akerman LLP Atlanta office was honored for its diversity initiatives by The Daily Report, the Atlanta affiliate of American Lawyer Media, at its Legal Awards dinner on Thursday, June 23rdThe firm works to advance the cause of racial justice throughout the country, including the following initiatives:

  • Justice Lab: Putting racist policing on trial;
  • ACLU Florida: Seeking full transparency in law enforcement;
  • Mandel Legal Aid Clinic: Civil rights & police accountability project;
  • Jim Crow Juries Project;
  • National Urban League’s 21 Pillars: A comprehensive framework for redefining public safety
  • Work with, support of, and leadership roles with organizations including the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Stonewall Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the State Bar Diversity Program, and the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network (GAIN);

Welch and seven other Akerman lawyers were on hand for the event at Flourish Atlanta in the Buckhead section of the city.
