Leading U.S. law firm Akerman today announced that its Chairman and CEO Scott Meyers was named to the "Top 50 Law Firm Executives of 2023" list published by The Attorney Intel Report. The list seeks to honor "the outstanding achievements of these remarkable individuals at the helm of their respective law firms, many of which operate globally and across many specializations within law."
Meyers has led Akerman as its Chairman and CEO since 2020. He previously served as the firm's Managing Partner and led Akerman's Chicago office since joining the firm in 2014. In honoring Meyers, The Attorney Intel Report described him as possessing "a commitment to fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-trust culture." The publication also stated that Meyers "empowers Akerman's lawyers and professionals to provide effective, creative, and sound legal solutions to clients."
Meyers expressed gratitude for the honor, saying that it was a testament to the firm's strong and collegial culture. Meyers has been a partner at Akerman since 2014 and has practiced with top law U.S. law firms for nearly 30 years. In addition to his leadership at Akerman, in his practice Meyers has represented hedge funds, investment advisers, private debt and equity funds, money managers, and insurance brokerage companies in complex commercial litigation, arbitration, and mediation of business disputes involving securities, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, and unfair competition. He graduated cum laude from both Georgetown University Law Center and the University of Pennsylvania.
