Akerman today announced that Jonathan G. Wright has joined the firm as a partner in the Corporate Practice Group in Washington, D.C. Jonathan joins from another Am Law 100 firm with deep experience across the energy and infrastructure sectors, advising developers, offtakers, investors, and financial institutions on complex transactional, regulatory, and project finance matters involving renewable power, advanced storage technologies, and emerging decarbonization initiatives.

“Jonathan brings extensive experience at the intersection of corporate, regulatory, and energy-related transactional work,” said David Birke, co-chair of Akerman’s Corporate Practice Group. “His ability to navigate complex project and financing matters will enhance our national corporate practice and support clients engaged in significant energy and infrastructure initiatives.”

Jonathan counsels clients on the development, financing, and acquisition of energy and carbon infrastructure assets and services, with a practice spanning wind and solar generation, battery storage, and carbon removal projects. He is recognized for his practical approach to structuring power purchase agreements, carbon credit transactions, and sustainability-linked financing arrangements. His regulatory insight is informed by his prior service as an attorney-advisor in the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Office of the General Counsel (FERC).

"Jonathan’s practice fits squarely within the needs of clients operating across the energy and AI data center sectors," said Jim Grice, co-chair of Akerman’s Energy and Infrastructure Sector Team and chair of the firm’s Data Center and Digital Infrastructure Practice. “His insight into the regulatory and transactional issues shaping these industries will be a valuable resource as clients navigate evolving technologies and growing market demand driven by AI data centers."
