Firm Grows Labor and Employment Practice Group and Litigation Experience in New York

Akerman today announced the expansion of its largest office, New York, with the addition of partner Adam Mocciolo to the Labor and Employment Practice Group. He joins from the Fortune 500 commercial lines property and casualty insurance holding company W.R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE: WRB), where he served as assistant vice president and counsel.

Labor and Employment Practice Group Chair Eric Gordon said: “Not only is Adam a first-rate trial lawyer with experience across many areas of employment law, but his vantage point as a former in-house counsel will be a benefit to our clients and our entire bench of lawyers as we continue to grow in New York.”

Adam provides full-spectrum employment law counseling and advocacy to employers large and small throughout the United States. Some of his particular areas of focus include restrictive covenant and trade secret litigation, internal investigations, and business immigration.

In addition to his employment practice, Adam litigates novel, complex commercial cases, with experience including a landmark antitrust class action in the payment card industry, and high-profile fraud and asset recovery matters.

Akerman’s New York office includes more than 115 lawyers in a range of areas, including consumer financial services, data, and technology; corporate; bankruptcy and reorganization; healthcare; intellectual property; litigation; labor and employment; tax; real estate; and other client sectors. Adam follows a series of lateral partners that joined the office this year including: corporate partner Ricardo Bernard, real estate partner Joseph Brasile, and litigation partners Michael Carr and Keith Blackman.
