To address the evolving legal and compliance needs of the healthcare sector amid advancements in AI and other emerging technologies, Akerman announced today the formation of its Digital Health Team. This interdisciplinary team will provide legal and regulatory counsel on matters including healthcare privacy, intellectual property, FDA and medical devices, vendor contracting, licensing, and mergers and acquisitions.
Healthcare Partner Jordan Cohen will serve as team lead. Cohen advises healthcare clients, including those in the digital health space, on a range of matters including federal and state privacy and data security regulations such as HIPAA’s Privacy, Security and Breach Notification Rules.
