Tax special counsel Elizabeth Hughes has been named a rising star by The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. The annual award recognizes members who have made significant contributions to the Section, and who demonstrate the potential for future leadership through active participation in Section committees and projects.

Hughes focuses her practice on fiduciary litigation, including litigation arising from estates, trusts and guardianships. She represents clients in related matters and serves as court appointed counsel, ad litem, estate curator, and guardian in Florida probate, trust, and guardianship matters. Hughes has experience litigating and resolving will and trust contests, fiduciary fee disputes, determination-of-heir disputes, disputes over appointment of fiduciaries, removal of fiduciaries, surcharge actions, elective share disputes, and breaches of fiduciary obligations. She regularly assists individuals and clients serving as fiduciaries in reforming and construing wills and trusts, and modifying and terminating trusts.
