Healthcare associate John Hood has been named Mentor of the Year by the Health Law Section of The Florida Bar in recognition of his outstanding commitment to mentoring attorneys and law students pursuing publication opportunities through the Section's HLS Updates publication.

As Editor-in-Chief of HLS Updates, John has played a pivotal role in guiding first-time authors through the writing and publication process, helping emerging healthcare attorneys and law students develop their professional voices while contributing meaningful insights on issues affecting the healthcare industry. The Mentor of the Year Award recognizes his dedication to fostering professional development and advancing legal scholarship within Florida's health law community.

John focuses his practice on healthcare regulatory, transactional, and compliance matters, counseling healthcare providers, physician groups, hospitals, and other industry participants on complex legal and business issues.

The award was presented during the Health Law Section's Annual Meeting in conjunction with The Florida Bar Annual Convention.
