Healthcare partner Elizabeth Hodge and Litigation associate Christy Hawkins published an article in Pratt’s Privacy & Cybersecurity Law Report offering guidance on cybersecurity and ransomware for businesses. In response to the enormous increase in ransomware attacks on businesses, the Biden administration alerted the private sector on how to limit the damage  attacks cause. Hodge and Hawkins break down the administration’s advice, outlining the recommended protocol of each one.

“All companies should review the guidance documents and, if necessary, modify their data security practices and business continuity plans accordingly,” Hodge and Hawkins said. “Failure to take the basic steps outlined in the guidance documents could leave an organization the victim of a ransomware attack and having to defend its decision not to implement the White House and CISA recommendations.”
