Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, continues to earn high rankings in leading legal guide Chambers & Partners as one of the nation's most prominent law firms in middle market mergers and acquisitions, and within the financial services and real estate sectors. The 2016 edition of Chambers USA Guide recognized the firm in 13 practice areas. The publication also honored 55 Akerman lawyers representing 20 practice areas.

Akerman lawyers achieved rankings in the nationwide Leisure & Hospitality and Litigation: E-Discovery categories. They also garnered New York, Virginia and Texas rankings in Environment, Construction and Bankruptcy/Restructuring, respectively. In addition, the firm expanded its Illinois rankings to include Corporate/M&A & Private Equity, Healthcare, Tax and Tax: Controversy.

For another consecutive year, the firm's Corporate/M&A & Private Equity, Real Estate and Insurance Practices received top honors in Florida — a distinction held by the firm's Corporate Practice Group for more than a decade. Other firm practices ranked in Florida by Chambers USA include: Antitrust; Banking & Finance; Bankruptcy & Restructuring; Construction; Environment; Healthcare; Labor & Employment; Litigation: General Commercial; Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use; and Tax.

In addition to recognition received as a leading U.S. law firm, Akerman maintained distinction in Chambers' latest Latin America and Global editions. Both guides once again recognized Akerman's Latin America & the Caribbean Practice among the best in International Arbitration: Latin America-wide. Akerman also is the sole U.S. law firm ranked in the Cuba: Corporate/Commercial category by Chambers Latin America for law firms based abroad. The milestone recognition makes Akerman one of only four law firms in the world to be distinguished in this category.

Along with its Global and Latin America editions, the Chambers USA Guide is part of a series of Chambers & Partners research-based publications for the legal profession. The annual rankings identify leading law firms and lawyers in an extensive range of practice areas throughout each region.
