Akerman Intellectual Property partner Caroline Mankey has been named a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). The LCA is an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society limited to one-half of one percent of American lawyers, judges, and scholars. Fellows are selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and for superior ethical reputation.
The LCA exists to “recognize deserving, experienced, and highly qualified lawyers, to provide an outlet for scholarly authorship of legal articles on trial and litigation practice, [and] to provide additional sources for professional development.” The LCA selection process is a combination of Fellow input, internal research, and nomination by Fellows, as well as peer and client review. Fellows have been evaluated for effectiveness and accomplishment in both litigation and trial work. They have also been evaluated based on ethical reputation.
Caroline is a seasoned trial lawyer representing diverse clients in the entertainment, arts, fashion, retail, and technology sectors, including motion picture studios and production companies, major media companies, film libraries, actors, comedians, television personalities, musicians, artists, jewelry designers, manufacturers, architects, and market research firms, in disputes involving copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, defamation, licensing and other contract rights, rights of publicity, business interference, and partnership disputes.
