Akerman Florida Land Use and Entitlements Practice Chair Dennis A. Kerbel has been appointed Chair of the Miami-Dade County Charter Review Task Force. The Charter Review Task Force reviews the Home Rule Charter of Miami-Dade County in its entirety and prepares and submits to the Board of County Commissioners written recommendations setting forth any proposed amendments or revisions to the Home Rule Charter.

Dennis has extensive experience in the full range of local government law issues, with a particular legal concentration in land use law. He focuses his practice on helping clients achieve optimal results from governmental approval processes and, where appropriate, litigation. Dennis has experience in federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels and handles a broad variety of cases, including zoning appeals, enforcement actions, and federal civil rights claims.
