Akerman litigation partner Donnie King in Miami was one of 18 lawyers, aged 40 or younger, to be recognized by the Daily Business Review in the "On the Rise" category for his legal achievements at the annual Florida Legal Awards ceremony on May 19. King also participated in a Q&A published by the newspaper where he discussed his path to becoming an accomplished litigator, including the top quality he uses to succeed in the legal profession.

King was quoted, "Litigation, by its nature, can be contentious. But I try to be kind to everyone — to opposing counsel, court reporters and staff, among others. At the end, success in this business comes down to relationships and trust. Dignity and respect of all individuals benefits us all. That said, when moments to fight arise, I address those as appropriate."
