LaKeisha C. Marsh, chair of Akerman’s Government Strategies Practice Group and Higher Education and Collegiate Athletics Practice, has been elected to serve on the National Association of College and University Attorneys' (NACUA) board of directors for a three-year term beginning June 2025.
NACUA is a leading membership association in the field of higher education law, focused on advancing the effective practice of higher education attorneys and serving the needs of colleges and universities by providing resources and support for legal professionals. As a board member at large, LaKeisha will help shape the association's strategic goals, policies, and priorities, as well as oversee the legal and ethical integrity of NACUA.
LaKeisha is active in NACUA as a member for over 10 years, and is a frequent speaker at NACUA conferences, events, and workshops, as a leading authority on higher education and collegiate athletics related matters.
LaKeisha focuses her practice on higher education policy and regulatory issues, as well as advocates for clients before federal, state, and local governments and agencies. LaKeisha also represents colleges, universities, and related institutions on federal and state regulatory compliance, accreditation, state licensure, institutional governance, and NCAA compliance-related matters and collegiate sports matters, including name, image, and likeness. She has structured and executed a broad range of transactional, restructuring, finance, and corporate governance matters for educational institutions.
